This is the 4th year that Brighton North has provided mentoring support to Victoria Police as a contribution to their leadership strategy for assisting police leaders transition into more senior roles within their organisation.
The aim of the Leadership Mentoring Program is to provide police leaders with a development opportunity to gain a better understanding of different organisational cultures as well as the challenges, rolls and skills of senior Victorian business leaders; and form stronger links with the Victorian Community and Rotary
Phil Mortimer will provide mentoring support to Victorian Police "Mentoree" Wendy Warren.


Wendy's key responsibilities include:
  • lead and manage business staff in the development of the SAP HR Systems
  • manage the corporate payroll and human resource management information system for Victoria Police 14,800 staff including international deployment assignments
  • consultation and provision of accurate and authoritative advice on all payroll and personnel matters to managers across the organisation including internal/external auditors
  • directly manage 3 team leaders with a total of 20 staff
  • provision of expert knowledge for the Victoria Police HRM system replacement project and involved in negotiations, functional specifications and test management
  • chair Victoria Police HR Managers meetings lead the implementation of the Police Enterprise Bargaining Agreement 2007 and  administered the changes to the payroll system
  • develop and build operational relationships with stakeholders such as the Victoria Police Finance Department, Victoria Auditor General's Department and outside agencies
  • lead change management processes and support staff to implement continuous improvement practices provide staff with opportunities to grow and develop through training
