Our Club
Chartered in March 1985, the Rotary Club of Brighton North is a dynamic mixture of professional and business people and some (very active) retirees. Our Club has 51 members. The membership reflects the diversity of Australia, having members with affiliations to the UK, Germany, France, USA and New Zealand complementing the Australian members.
Our friendly meetings are a blend of great speakers, Rotary service, entertainment and socialising. Each month we include a social event or activity so that members can truly be part of our Rotary Club family. A golf tournament, a golf-lovers’ trip and a car rally are annual highlights. Sometimes it’s just a celebration of footy or Cup Day. Sometimes it’s sharing cultural differences and similarities.

Our projects cover all five avenues of service. We raise considerable funds each year to help us with projects ranging from aid in Tibet and Pacific islands, through funding medical research and programmes as diverse as Friedreich Ataxia, Motor Neurone Disease, Multiple Sclerosis and childhood cancer, to providing support in our own community such as painting a local church and a kindergarten extension, and building a “shipwreck” playground at a local beach. We support the district Violence Free Families project; provide scholarships and other support for students in secondary and tertiary education; purchase bikes and helmets for underprivileged children; present annual Vocational Excellence Awards and manage to fit in a myriad of other activities too.
We always welcome visitors knowing they will enjoy our meetings, but don’t think of joining the Rotary Club of Brighton North unless you subscribe to the concept of serving the community and having great fun with Rotary friends along the way.
