Wednesday 19 June was our last dinner meeting for the 2012-13 year. Several visitors attended and the guest speaker warmed the hearts of all present.

Before the meeting even began there was a lot of activity with many Rotarians meeting with Sonia and Marg from Brighton Primary School to debrief on this term's Reading Project and look to the future. Thanks to all RCBN members and significant others who support this very worthwhile programme.

Visitors to this meetingh included Pam supporting Pierre as Chairman, Di, Jo Saxton and Anna Sullivan (friend of Kay from Wellington NZ). The speaker was Christina Rearick talking about the person behind her badge.

Three directors presented reports - covered elsewhere in this bulletin.

President Jim covered the year's activities of the Club (also detailed elsewhere)

In assuming the role of Bulletin Editor in a couple of weeks, Lyn asked for offers of scribing at meetings. The more who offer, the fewer times you'll be rostered on. It simply means taking notes at the dinner meetings and emailing these to Lyn. Not an onerous task. It's important to get different perspectives in the bulletin and not just the Editor's viewpoint.

Phil R reminded people to book with him for the Golf Trip 2014 as rooms are going fast!

Peter H announced that Pat Lardner is in town and a coffee meeting for interested people has been set up for Thursday morning at the White Rabbit in Church Street at 9 am. After last night's Lions' game no doubt he'll arrive in fine fettle!

RCBN has averaged 77.5% attendance over this year. Not too bad at all! Well done Rotarians.

Dave Jacka finished his around-Australia solo flight recently in just 38 days. What an inspiration this man is!

It was pointed out that the designer of one of the gardens we supervised in  the Garden DesignFest won the Chelsea Flower Show.

Ian proudly announced the pending arrival of two grand children. Those of us "in the know" understand just how excited he and Jill must be.

Surprisingly Brian mentioned that he has some Entertainment Books for sale. We all know what a great investment these are - see Brian.

Barrie is undergoing his second round of chemo and we all wish him speedy travels through this horrible time and a further reduction in the tumour.

Christina was our guest speaker and gave an interesting account of life in Michigan and some thoughts on coming to Melbourne.   Yes, that's a mitt she is holding.

The sergeants raised $106 but didn't have a raffle...

President Jim's final quote was from Confucius:  “They must often change, who would be constant in happiness or wisdom.”
