Working For A Better Family Life
Sue Hocking & Marilyn Ellis from Family Life gave us a talk on all that they do for the less fortunate in our community. It is staggering the various help services they provide and it is suggested you go on their website to see more of the work they do not just around Bayside but further down the Peninsula as well. http://www.familylife.com.au/
Stephanie Werner also from Family Life would like you to read this little success story of the work they do...

"My family moved into the Dunkley Fox Housing Estate in 2002. When we first moved there we didn't know anyone and thought the estate was a bit unfriendly. Then one day we saw a Family Life flyer in the mail advertising their After School and Breakfast Clubs. We went along to have a look, and feel like we've been there ever since!
I have no doubt that taking part in the activities and events offered through Family Life has made me a better person and boosted my self esteem. My whole family is happier, and I now have lots of friends around and really feel part of a community which I haven't felt for a long time".
The activities such as the Breakfast and After School Clubs, as well as events such as Housing Week, would not be possible without support like that provided from Brighton North Rotary. Each year they donate Christmas presents for the children at one of our community house in Hampton East, in 2009 they provided a bus for families to visit the Melbourne Zoo, and many of the Rotary members volunteer their time.
These are just a few ways they help and share in our belief that every child has the right to a safe and happy family life, supported by a caring community.
