As Chairman Geoff pointed out, our Club is doing a great deal of service work in our community and abroad. While enjoying hearing about all that is going on your Scribe thought the reports would never end.So what was there of importance to all members and friends?

Peter entertained us with horsey history and blood lines - from the Irish Cup in 1727 to the Melbourne Cup in 2012. Snippets included the IRA kidnapping the 1981 winner of the Irish Cup, Shergar who was never seen again; the casual fashions in Ireland; a teaser about which barrier draws in Melbourne have never won a cup (sorry you had to be there to get the good oil); the progeny of Galileo who may well surprise in this year's Cup.
