Garden Fest - A Great Success

Posted by Phil Mortimer

Despite the somewhat wet weekend we hosted over 1,700 gardeners at the 4 houses we opened for the Garden Fest on the 13th and 14th of November.
With some 30 Club Members and Friends volunteering for either the 9:30 am to 1:30pm morning shifts or the 1:30pm to 5:00pm afternoon shifts our Gate-keepers and Garden Guards did a fantastic job.

Even a bus load of 54 keen gardeners didn't phase our experienced volunteers.
At the 4 gardens the Landscape Designer also provided on the spot advice and fielded the many technical queries - they were kept very busy and the 1,700 visitors appreciated their expert advice.
This was our first attempt at the Garden Fest and with the majority of the detailed organisation being done by the Rotary Club of Kew it has been a steep learning curve for our Club and it augers well for future involvement in the Garden Fest

To show our support for the Designers please visit their Web Sites to discovery more about their great skills and the services they offer - 4 very talented Landscape Designers
