Apart from Polio Plus what do YOU know about the Rotary Foundation? Learn more.

The Rotary Foundation enables Rotarians to advance world understanding, goodwill, and peace through the improvement of health, the support of education, and the alleviation of poverty.

You may not know that across the world 15,000 children die every day from preventable diseases. It costs between $1 and $2 per child to save their lives. A donation of $100 to the Rotary Foundation’s Annual Programs Fund (Every Rotarian, Every Year) can save the lives of 50 to 100 children.

The Rotary Foundation also improves world understanding with Ambassadorial Scholarships, Peace Scholarships and Cultural Exchange Programs.

In this Rotary year of Peace through Service, and in this Spring Carnival week it is with great delight the Networker confirmed we got the Trifecta with all three District nominees for peace studies this year being accepted. Stuart Bateson and Suzanna van Meegen will attend the course at Chulalongkorn. Stephanie Woollard, an amazing young woman who is passionate about addressing inequality and disadvantage, has been accepted for the 2 year Masters program at the newest Centre for Peace and Conflict resolution at Uppsala University, Sweden. To read more about these three Peace Makers read The Networker. The value of the three scholarships provided by The Rotary Foundation is $98,000. This is a wonderful investment in the future and a very significant contribution by The Foundation to “doing good in the world”. Because of the support our District receives we are proud to return US$25,000 annually from our District Designated Funds to the Peace Centres program. In return we are recognised as a Peacebuilder District, one of only 44 in the world and the only Australian District.
