Seven Brighton North Rotarians accepted the invitation from Mark Owen, our Heritage Signage supporter in the Bayside Council, to the Bayside Business Breakfast at The International.

By the sound of the loud 'buzz' around the place it was obviously a great networking opportunity for the 400 plus business people and guests, including local politicians. Everyone enjoyed a good breakfast and two excellent speakers.
Our members took the opportunity to represent RCBN by networking with the guests.
The first speaker was the Managing Director of iSelect, Matt McCann. iSelect  is a web based business that pulls together for you, those services offering Health, Car, Life Insurances or Utilities - Gas, Electricity & Broadband.  Matt told us how and why the business was created and how it has grown so large, that it now employs over 450 people. Well worth you visiting http://iselect.com.au  - compare, select, save.

The second speaker was Hans Kunnen, an economist with a sense of humour, who works for the Bank of Melbourne. Hans gave us information on the real state of the economy and its future, including the impact of China, the US & Europe's influence on our prosperity.
Both speakers were generally optimistic about the future of Australia, no matter who is in power.
Russell managed to get the MC to announce our Vocational Excellence Award to those present.
All in all a well run and enjoyable network meeting.
